EA Motive has confirmed that its highly anticipated Iron Man game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, according to a recent blog post from the studio. The game developer believes the powerful engine will "empower the dev team to work their magic and create something really special". This news places the Iron Man game among a growing list of titles, like Black Myth: WuKong, Tekken 8 and The Witcher Remake, which are utilizing Unreal Engine 5, with Lords of the Fallen being one of the initial major games to launch using this engine.

Moving its focus on to Iron Man from the widely celebrated Dead Space Remake earlier this year, EA motive says the game is still in the early stages of development and likely several years away from release, but the team is "finding so many opportunities to explore story, design and gameplay with Iron Man"; expressing excitement over the project's progress.

In order to ensure the game resonates with fans of the iconic character, EA Motive has established a "Community Council", consisting of Iron Man aficionados who'll provide feedback throughout the development process. The game, announced in September 2022 as "an all-new single-player, action-adventure", is the first of three upcoming Marvel video games from EA, the publisher known for FIFA (now FC) and Battlefield.
