Jun 28, 2024 8:46 PM

Warner Bros. has announced new dates for two significant films, including an untitled Denis Villeneuve project slated for December 18, 2026. Although details remain scarce, it is speculated this might be "Dune 3." Work on the script and casting is still in progress. Following this, a new MonsterVerse film is scheduled for March 26, 2027, replacing an untitled animated movie. This next installment doesn't have a director yet, as Adam Wingard, who directed "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," won't return. "Godzilla x Kong" grossed over $567 million worldwide, while Villeneuve's "Dune: Part Two" earned an impressive $711 million globally. Villeneuve aims to conclude his journey in the "Dune" universe with his adaptation of "Dune Messiah" currently in development.

What is the release date for Denis Villeneuve's next project?

Dune, a seminal work of science fiction by Frank Herbert, has captivated audiences with its complex universe and intricate plotlines. Denis Villeneuve has successfully brought new life to this classic with his visually stunning adaptations. Following the critical and commercial success of "Dune: Part One" and "Dune: Part Two," fans eagerly await the continuation of Paul Atreides’ saga. Villeneuve knocking it out of the park with Dune 2 and aiming for a third is epic news, considering his knack for mind-blowing sci-fi. Also, bummed about Adam Wingard stepping away, but stoked to see what fresh perspective will steer the next MonsterVerse flick.
