Xbox promises same content for Call of Duty on all systems
Oct 18, 2023 11:29 AMIn a significant promise to gamers, Xbox Chief Phil Spencer has declared that future Call of Duty titles will provide the same content on all systems. This announcement was made during an official Xbox podcast, where the recent completion of the Activision Blizzard acquisition by Microsoft was extensively discussed.
"I want players on PlayStation and Nintendo in the future to feel entirely part of the community. I don't want anyone to feel like they're missing out on content, skins, or getting delayed in timing. Our objective is 100% equality wherever feasible on all systems," Spencer expressed.
Under a freshly established agreement with Nintendo, the Call of Duty franchise is expected to ultimately reach Nintendo's ecosystem too. For years now, PlayStation gamers have had early one-week access to the beta versions of new Call of Duty titles.
Spencer further revealed that it's not their goal to use Call of Duty as a motivation to purchase an Xbox console and that the traditionally exclusive beta periods for Call of Duty will also be discontinued. During the podcast, it was additionally mentioned that Xbox Game Pass subscribers can anticipate Activision Blizzard games arriving on the service only in 2024.
