XDefiant release date revealed

Ubisoft's new free-to-play shooter, XDefiant, is set to make its debut on May 21. This much-anticipated release will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, though there's no current information about a release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. XDefiant will feature characters from fan-favorite universes including Ghost Recon, Watch Dogs, Far Cry, Splinter Cell, and The Division, pitting them against one another in multiplayer battles.

The game's pre-season kicks off on the launch date, offering players a chance to try out five game modes (Domination, Hot Shot, Occupy, Escort, Zone Control) across 14 maps, with access to 24 weapons and 44 attachments. The pre-season is set for a duration of six weeks, after which a full-fledged season will begin, lasting three months and promising the introduction of new maps, weapons, and factions with each successive season.

Players can start playing XDefiant during its pre-season beginning on May 21.

XDefiant is Ubisoft's latest venture into the competitive multiplayer shooter genre, building upon their diverse gaming universes.
