IO Interactive launched its latest game, 007 First Light, on May 26, 2026, with a full release on May 27. Gameplay and story

In 007 First Light, players step into the role of a young James Bond in his origin story, as he develops his skills as a conversationalist and secret agent. The gameplay has been significantly improved compared with earlier IO Interactive titles, with a snappier combat system that offers plenty of room for improvisation and creative stealth. That is clear in the game’s opening, where players are immersed in a training montage that takes them through a range of skill tests, from driving to combat.

Free outfits and events

IO Interactive has launched a campaign to unlock outfits, allowing players to earn three unique looks for James Bond: the Purple Suit, Silent Line, and Resplendent Death. To unlock these outfits, players must watch the game on Twitch for a total of two hours. The event runs until June 23, 2026, and requires linking an IO Interactive account to Twitch to receive rewards.

In addition to the Twitch campaign, players can also claim the Ops Radiant outfit for free by creating an Alienware Arena account and earning 5 points. The outfit represents the balance between discipline and dominance for Bond during his missions.

Future content and updates

The developers have already announced several updates and expansions for 007 First Light. One major update, called Valhalla Protocol, will add a new mission featuring a specially customized Aston Martin.
