Pokémon GO celebrates its 10th anniversary with new seasons and Community Day

Pokémon GO has announced exciting plans for the coming months, including the launch of its latest season, titled 'Forever Forward', and a Community Day centered on Frigibax. This season not only marks the game’s 10th anniversary, but also brings a wave of new Pokémon and special in-game events.

New season: Forever Forward

The 'Forever Forward' season will begin on 2 June 2026 and run until September 2026. It follows the current 'Memories in Motion' season, which has been running over the past few months and introduced a number of new Pokémon, including Blipbug, Flittle, Silicobra, Orthworm, and Mimikyu. 'Memories in Motion' ends on 2 June at 10:00 a.m. local time, kicking off the game’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

Ahead of the anniversary, players can look forward to special events, including GO Fest 2026, where long-awaited Pokémon such as Mega Mewtwo X and Y will make their debut. These festivities are designed to celebrate Pokémon GO’s history while keeping the focus on the game’s future.

Community Day with Frigibax

One of the highlights of the 'Forever Forward' season is the upcoming Community Day, which will take place on 20 June 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. This Community Day focuses on Frigibax, a Dragon/Ice-type Pokémon from the Paldea region. During the event, several in-game bonuses will be available:

• Frigibax will appear much more frequently in the wild.
• Players will have an increased chance to encounter a Shiny Frigibax.
• Evolving Arctibax during the event will grant a Baxcalibur with the special move Glaive Rush.
• Players will receive double Candy and triple Stardust for all catches.
• Players above level 31 will have an increased chance to earn XL Candy.

Community Day events are a beloved tradition in the Pokémon GO community, giving players the chance to sharpen their skills and catch rarer Pokémon.

Future events and expectations

The new season and Community Day are not the only things players have to look forward to. The upcoming GO Fest Global 2026, scheduled for 11 and 12 July 2026, promises a packed experience with multiple Raids, unique bonus incentives, and the debut of Mega Mewtwo and Zeraora.
