Sony removes deals tab from PlayStation Store

PlayStation Store users who check daily for the best offers may be surprised to hear that Sony has removed the deals tab from its online marketplace. The change was first spotted by several outlets, including Push Square, which confirmed that trying to access the deals page now results in an error message.

Reasons for the removal

The exact reason for the missing deals tab is currently unclear, especially given Sony’s lack of official communication. Some speculate that the change may be tied to an ongoing PlayStation UI update currently in beta. That could explain why certain features are temporarily unavailable.

Class-action lawsuit

Another possible factor behind the removal of the deals tab could be linked to a settlement in a class-action lawsuit against Sony. If the court approves the settlement, Sony may have to pay $7.8 million to players in the United States who purchased selected games through the PlayStation Store. It is not known exactly how this legal issue relates to the changes to the deals tab.

User interface changes

In April 2023, Sony introduced a new 30-day online license check for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 titles purchased through the PlayStation Store.
