New details about Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Sony Pictures has recently released two new posters for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. During CinemaCon 2026, new footage was also shown, further raising expectations for the film.

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously gained recognition for his work on the Shang-Chi film. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, supported by an impressive cast including Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo. The script is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the duo previously involved in other films within the Spider-Man universe.

Reactions and expectations

During the CinemaCon 2026 presentation, Holland said that Brand New Day is the “most emotional Spider-Man we’ve ever made, and the most mature.” Tom Rothman, chairman of Sony Pictures, also praised the film: “It’s as big as anything we’ve ever made, and yet it feels like nothing we’ve made before. And it has Tom Holland — and I can say that because I’ve seen the film — in his best performance.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on 31 July 2026. Trailers and posters are currently available to promote the film, and fans are eagerly awaiting the latest adventures of their favorite web-slinger.
