After the launch on May 4, when many interested buyers unfortunately couldn’t get a Steam Controller due to technical issues, Valve is giving gamers another chance. The new Steam Controller will be available for preorder on May 8 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.

Preorder requirements

To qualify for the preorder, users must meet specific conditions:

You must have an account in good standing on Steam.
You must have purchased a game on the platform before April 27, 2026.
Each user may order only one Steam Controller.
If you already bought a controller on May 4, you are not eligible for the second round.

Purchase process

After you receive an order confirmation by email, you have three days (72 hours) to complete your purchase. That means quick action is required to make sure you can secure the controller before stock runs out.
