Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Deathwatch is shaping up to be an exciting sequel to the successful strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters. With a strong focus on the Deathwatch faction, the game promises a sprawling adventure that brings together units from multiple Space Marine chapters in a dynamic battle against a wide range of enemies.

The Deathwatch focus

The Deathwatch is a unique group within the Warhammer 40,000 universe, made up of elite Space Marines drawn from different chapters. This opens the door to a wide variety of units, adding depth to both tactics and gameplay. The idea behind this choice was to combine different combat approaches and reflect that diversity in the game’s unit roster.

New units and gameplay

Deathwatch introduces entirely new units, including the iconic Leman Russ tank. This adds another strategic layer, with players able to choose from more than 20 playable classes, such as offensive Deathwatch troops, Astra Militarum members, and Inquisition forces. That creates a fresh dynamic, letting players build and customize their squads.

The gameplay is more flexible than before, allowing missions to vary depending on the units selected. While the number of units that can be deployed per mission has not increased significantly, the new squad deployment system offers more options for shaping strategies. Unlike its predecessor, which focused mainly on the Death Guard, Deathwatch now includes six or seven different enemy factions, including Orks and the T'au.
