Ark: Survival Ascended releases today on PC

Ark: Survival Ascended, the highly anticipated remake of Ark: Survival Evolved, is launching today on PC as declared by Studio Wildcard. The announcement was made during the Xbox Partner Preview livestream, with the first glimpse of the remastered game also shared. The game will debuts as an Early Access version with a full version for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and S expected to release sometime in November.

The remastered version, which is based on the Unreal Engine 5, includes a revamped user interface, new character customization features, and a split-screen multiplayer. It also boasts an in-game mod browser, which will allow console versions of the game to utilize modifications. More details can be found on Xbox Wire. The original announcement stirred some controversy as it had inferred that Ark: Survival Evolved would be taken offline after the launch of Survival Ascended, and the remastered version would initially only come as a bundle with Ark 2.

However, after Ark 2 was delayed to 2024 end, the remake, Ark: Survival Ascended was introduced earlier this year. The company then reversed its decision and announced that the remake would no longer be exclusively bundled with Ark 2.
