The first narrative expansion for Dead Island 2, titled Haus, has been released. A launch trailer gives a sneak peek of the new saga, featuring a secret cult fighting to survive the zombie apocalypse in a stylish Malibu villa. As for gameplay, players can expect new tools and weapons including a crossbow that shoots explosives, and eight new skill cards.

The second narrative expansion, SOLA Festival, has yet to reveal its content. Both expansions can be bought via the Expansion Pass. The game was previously launched this year on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and the Epic Games Store.

The review by Erik Nusselder stated "Dead Island 2 feels hopelessly dated and simplistic. But that doesn't mean it isn't fun."
