Final Push of Mario Kart 8's Extras to Arrive Next Week

Nov 01, 2023 6:49 PM

Nintendo has announced the release of the sixth and final wave of Booster Course Pass DLC content for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The new content, which will launch on November 9th, adds several classic characters and eight new courses to the popular racing game. Since the release of the first wave in March 2022, the Booster Course Pass DLC has continually added fresh tracks and fan-favorite characters to Mario Kart 8.

This new release brings the total number of DLC courses to 48, which equals the number of tracks that originally launched with the kart racing extravagance in 2014. For a yearly subscription fee of $49.99, Switch owners can enjoy the USD Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack and have access to the DLC without incurring additional costs. Alternatively, players can purchase the digital content outright for $24.99 by buying the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass from the Nintendo Store.

The latest wave of content introduces the Acorn Cup and the Spiny Cup, along with beloved characters including Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Pauline, and Peachette. The DLC will also include 16 additional Mii racing suits and introduce a brand new Music Player feature for all Mario Kart 8 Deluxe players, allowing users to listen to music tracks from each course. Reactions from the Mario Kart community have mixed feelings; while many are excited about the new tracks, others are disappointed their favorite courses didn't make the cut.
