Harry Potter: Magic Awakened Shuts Down After One Year

Warner Bros. Games has announced the closure of the mobile game Harry Potter: Magic Awakened just over a year after its global launch. The collectible card role-playing game, launched in June 2023, allowed players to take on the role of a new Hogwarts student, utilizing collectible cards in duels. As of August 26, 2024, the game has been removed from the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, with the servers set to shut down on October 29, 2024. In-game purchases have also been disabled. While players in the Americas, Europe, and Oceania will see the game discontinued, it will remain available in select Asian territories. Players have expressed disappointment and requested refunds, but Warner Bros. has ruled out server transfers and refunds.

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened is shutting down due to its underperformance in the western markets, despite the game's overall enthusiasm from fans during its brief run. Warner Bros. has decided to focus on different games in the franchise, such as the upcoming Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.
