CD Projekt Red proceeded to let go of approximately 10% of their employees, while Microsoft laid off around 10,000 workers. A series of layoffs also took place at companies such as Ubisoft, Bioware, Telltale, and Crystal Dynamics.

In addition to the massive layoffs, several high-ranking officials have resigned from their positions within companies. This year, for instance, Jim Ryan announced his departure from Sony PlayStation, while Pete Hines is leaving Bethesda. John Riccitiello is stepping down from Unity.
