Nintendo donates over $300k for Japan quake aid

Jan 16, 2024 4:35 PM

In an act of charity following the recent earthquake in Japan, Nintendo has announced the donation of 50 million yen (approximately 314,000 euros) to the Red Cross to aid victims affected by the disaster. In addition to the monetary donation, Nintendo is also offering free repairs for any of their hardware damaged due to the earthquake. This announcement comes after The Pokémon Company also committed 50 million yen in aid earlier in the month. The earthquake, which measured a 7.6 on the Richter scale, caused significant damage, resulting in the loss of 222 lives with 22 individuals still reported missing. Nintendo's contribution reflects their commitment to community support and social responsibility in times of crisis.

How is Nintendo supporting earthquake victims in Japan beyond the monetary donation?

Nintendo is offering free repairs for any Nintendo hardware that was damaged as a result of the earthquake, showing their support for customers affected by the natural disaster.
