A new trailer featuring Omni-Man, an upcoming downloadable content character (DLC) for Mortal Kombat 1, has recently been released. Originating from the comic series Invincible, which also inspired an animated series on Amazon Prime, Omni-Man was already set to feature in the first DLC package for Mortal Kombat 1. Fans got a detailed glimpse of the character at New York Comic-Con. In the game, Omni-Man is voiced by JK Simmons, matching the animated series.

The first DLC package for Mortal Kombat 1 is set to release in November. The package is purchasable, but those who already own the Premium Edition of the game will receive it for free. In addition to Omni-Man, the package will introduce other characters such as Peacemaker, Homelander, Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takashi Takeda. Additionally, Johnny Cage, Tremor, Mavado, Ferra, and Khameleon known as "Kameo fighters" will be added.

Tom Kerkhof, a game reviewer, rated the PlayStation 5 version of the game eight out of ten. He commended the game for staying true to the series' formula, exhibiting a healthy mix of accessibility, bizarre characters, and heavy blood-shedding which are the hallmarks of the Mortal Kombat series. Tom also highlighted the addition of Kameo fighters for giving the game more depth, ensuring long-lasting enjoyment even after players have grown tired of gruesome fatalities.
