The game's day one patch on consoles and PCs was released today. Notwithstanding, PC version players allege that after downloading the update, they need to approve a Denuvo-related licensing agreement before continuing their gameplay. This move was poorly received by the players.
Denuvo's DRM technology is notorious for being nearly impossible to crack, preventing unauthorized copies of a game from circulating. At the same time, there's controversy surrounding the technology, as it sometimes negatively affects game performance.
This discrete move has agitated many players given that the game's review embargo had already elapsed, with reviews naturally making no mention of Denuvo, with claims saying it was added today. The update's patch notes failed to mention Denuvo.
"Assassin’s Creed Mirage" is now out for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Lars Cornelis rated the game 6.5, stating that while it is occasionally nostalgic and entertaining, it ultimately lacks the substance of a groundbreaking game.
