The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, a PlayStation 5 (PS5) game, has had its release date delayed until December 5th, according to announcements made by publisher North Beach Games and developer Free Range Games.

Originally scheduled for release on October 24th, the PC version of the game is still set to launch as planned via the Epic Games Store. However, the PS5 version will now debut in December alongside the physical version of the game. The release date for the Xbox Series version remains as some point at the start of 2024.

The game, which will cost €35.99, takes place during the Fourth Age of Middle Earth, following the events depicted in the books, films, and the Amazon series. In this cooperative gameplay experience, players control a group of dwarves tasked with extracting the lost treasures of Khazad-dûm, the dwarven kingdom. To obtain better materials and treasures, players must mine, facing various dangers that lurk within the caves of the kingdom.

Earlier this week, it was revealed through the game's introductory video clip that actor John Rhys-Davies, who played Gimli in The Lord of the Rings films, is also featured in the game.
