Jun 18, 2025 11:20 AM

Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox, expresses his excitement about the $70 price point for Borderlands 4, confirming extensive DLC planned for the game. The recent price announcement revealed the standard edition will be available for £59.99 on PC platforms, while it will retail for £69.99 on consoles. Pitchford previously faced backlash over his comments suggesting that "real fans" would cope with a higher price. He has since reassured fans with promises of free and paid DLC, emphasizing their commitment to both the main game and its post-launch support. Borderlands 4 is set to launch on September 12, 2025, introducing new gameplay features and four new Vault Hunters.

What can players expect from Borderlands 4 DLC?

Players can look forward to a variety of content in Borderlands 4, which will include both free and paid DLC. Pitchford has indicated the team is dedicated to enhancing the game experience with new missions, characters, and features, suggesting a robust post-launch support plan to keep the community engaged.

Randy’s enthusiasm for DLC is giving me déjà vu—hopefully Borderlands 4’s expansions actually feel worth the extra cash this time. At least the promise of new Vault Hunters gives me a reason to stay cautiously optimistic

Ah, the classic 'DLC roadmap' promise—hopefully Gearbox delivers more meaty expansions this time and not just cosmetic fluff. At least the humor and chaos of Borderlands should make the price tag sting a little less. New Vault Hunters and post-launch support sound great, but let’s hope the DLC doesn’t feel like content that was just held back from the base game. Fingers crossed for another Tiny Tina-tier expansion
