GSC Game World, the developers, took this decision after allowing thousands of players to test the game and receiving feedback, which pointed out the need for technical improvements. Originally set to release in the first quarter of 2024, the development faced challenges due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as the studio was based there. However, they continue their work from the Czech Republic, with some team members still in Ukraine. 'Stalker 2', a first-person shooter, will again immerse players in the Zone surrounding the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant filled with radiation and mutations. The game will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and it will also be available on Game Pass on release day. The announcement was accompanied by a brief new trailer.
