Publisher Team17 is reportedly facing a "significant" layoff round according to Eurogamer.

The company is undergoing a restructuring process where about fifty jobs, primarily from the quality assurance department, are reportedly at stake.

Future QA work would supposedly be outsourced to an external company.

There is currently no explicit information about whether employees from other departments are safe from the layoffs.

Additionally, Michael Pattison, the CEO of the publisher side of the company, could potentially step down from his role.

Pattison was assigned this position in October 2021, and the restructuring process is expected to be completed in November.

This year, the gaming industry seems to be facing significant layoffs.

Recently, Epic Games was reported of laying off around sixteen percent of its workforce, equivalent to about 830 employees.

Earlier this year, CD Projekt Red announced it would lay off about ten percent of its employees, and Microsoft let go of around 10,000 employees.

Other companies such as Ubisoft, Bioware, and Crystal Dynamics are also undergoing layoffs this year.
