Game developer Telltale Games has confirmed layoffs of an undisclosed number of employees due to current market conditions. The company assured that none of its in-development games have been canceled, confirming The Wolf Among Us 2 continues to advance. A former employee revealed on social media that a large portion of his team was let go in September but offered no comments on the status of The Wolf Among Us 2, which was postponed to 2024 earlier this year.

This year has seen a significant number of layoffs in the gaming industry. Reports disclosed early terminations of at least 25 contracts with Naughty Dog employees, recent layoffs at Team17 and the team behind Hearthstone. Last week, approximately sixteen percent, roughly 830 employees, were laid off by Epic Games. CD Projekt Red and Microsoft also announced this year layoffs of about ten percent of their employees and around 10,000 employees, respectively. Other companies such as Ubisoft, Bioware, and Crystal Dynamics have also undergone layoffs this year.
