Thomas the Train's Scary Rule Persists with Alien Isolation Modification

Oct 24, 2023 1:06 AM
IGN's News Director, Kat Bailey, reported on October 23, 2023, about a new Alien: Isolation gaming modification (mod) that features Thomas the Tank Engine as the main antagonist. Thomas, who has been notoriously renowned in mod circles, will now prowl the eerie platforms of Sevastopol Station. This unique integration comes just in time for Halloween, thanks to the work of MattFiler.

In this mod, Thomas the Tank Engine replaces the original convoluted Xenomorph, demonstrating an uncanny terror matching H.R. Giger's creation. As the game progresses, the seemingly innocent train figure horrifyingly lurks through the station's vents and corridors.

Through its initial release, Alien: Isolation gained recognition due to its innovative use of AI that ensured a terrifying, indomitable foe for the players. Despite certain criticisms about its pacing, the game came to be appreciated as a horror classic over time.

While fans continue to anticipate a sequel to Alien: Isolation, the inclusion of Thomas the Tank Engine in the game mod should suffice for now. Other spin-offs available to gamers include a Starfield mod that features every ship replaced by the iconic train, and a recent horror game release called Choo-Choo Charles, providing a lighter twist on the train character.
