Wolverine takes place in the same universe as the Spider Man games

The upcoming Wolverine game from Insomniac Games is set in the same universe as the developer's Spider-Man games, according to creative director Bryan Intihar's confirmation to Kinda Funny Games. The games all belong to "1048", a specific Marvel Universe. Insomniac Games announced the Wolverine game and Spider-Man 2 in 2021 during a PlayStation Showcase. It is unknown when Wolverine will be released for PlayStation 5. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has recently been released and Erik Nusselder rewarded the game with an 8 out of 10 score, noting it offered "more of everything that worked so well in previous segments" but also remarked that the game rarely surprises due to Insomniac's overly safe choices.
